Re-Livestock Annual Meeting

CONSULAI, as a partner of the European Re-Livestock project, actively participated in the project’s three-day General Assembly, held in November 2025 at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), Spain. The meeting provided a key opportunity to review scientific progress, strengthen collaboration across teams, and reinforce the shared commitment to developing more resilient, sustainable, and climate-aligned livestock systems.

During the assembly, partners presented updates on livestock emission mitigation and climate adaptation strategies, covering feeding, breeding, flock management, and housing, as well as the latest developments in case studies. These sessions facilitated knowledge sharing and ensured that outputs from different regions and species contribute to an integrated framework for sustainable livestock systems.

A central focus of the meeting was a series of resilience dialogues, exploring how resilience can be understood and measured at different levels, from individual animals to the wider territorial context. These discussions helped refine methodologies, highlight synergies between research activities, and strengthen the connection between environmental, social, and economic dimensions of resilience.

The assembly also included exchanges with representatives from the livestock sector (C-Lock, Nestlé, Digitanimal, CRV, Provacuno, and PIC), providing valuable insights into practical realities, ensuring that scientific outputs remain ambitious and applicable.

Technical visits to UPV’s experimental facilities and the San Ramón Dairy Farm offered first-hand experience of applied research and innovative practices, reinforcing the link between science and real-world livestock production.

This annual meeting marked a key milestone in the project’s final phase, consolidating knowledge and fostering scientific integration to support the transition to resilient, low-emission, and socially responsible livestock systems.
