The Azores Wine Company inaugurated its new winery in the Pico Island, strengthening wine tourism in the region. The new space inaugurated on June 30th, allies wine production to tourism, contemplating in its about 2.000m2 a tasting room, a large room for events, restaurant, accommodation and wine cellar, reinforcing the potential of this sector in Madalena, Capital of the Azores of Vine and Wine.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the President of the Regional Government of the Azores – José Manuel Bolieiro – who praised the Azores Wine Company for launching a project of “creativity, knowledge and courage” that adds value to the island, the Azores and Portugal.

The winery aims to make guests enjoy the incredible landscape of the Pico vineyards, contemplate the highest mountain in Portugal, listen to the sea and eat fresh fish and local products. But above all, to taste the famous and exclusive Azorean grape varieties.
