QuantiFarm: the new Horizon Europe project will develop and create a framework to assess the effectiveness and performance of digital tools

In order to assess the impacts of digitalisation on agriculture, the QuantiFarm project will develop and create a framework to evaluate the effectiveness and performance of digital tools that promise to modernise agriculture.

Started in July 2022, the QuantiFarm project, funded by the HorizonEurope programme, has as main objective to inform and communicate to European farmers the truth about the use of Digital Tecncologies. The project will last three and a half years and has 32 partners from 20 European countries, including Portugal.

QuantiFarm’s strategy is that the project encompasses and adequately represents the European diversity. In numbers this means 30 case studies covering more than 20 countries in 10 (of the 11) bio-geographical regions of Europe, which will take place on 100 farms in 7 agricultural sectors of 20 crops and animals.

CONSULAI, partner of the project, and as leader of work package 4 is responsible for the subsequent testing and analysis of digital technologies used in agriculture. The aim is to equip farmers, consultants and policy makers with tools to assess the cost-benefit and environmental sustainability impact of implementing these technologies.
