H2020 InnoVar | Official video of the project

The H2020 InnoVar project (Testing Next Generation Varieties for Improved Crops on European Farms) is entering its third year and we can now see some really exciting results from our extensive trial series that will bring a lot more discussion with key stakeholders.  This video is an example of CONSULAI’s work on this project, where it leads Communication and Dissemination, and aims to explain in 3 minutes the impact that testing different cereal varieties under extreme conditions, in different parts of the world, can have on agriculture and food worldwide.

About the project H2020 InnoVar

The InnoVar project, a project under the Horizon 2020 programme, aims to increase and improve, at European level, the efficiency and accuracy of varietal testing in order to facilitate decision-making, using an integrated approach that includes genomics, phenotyping and machine learning.

In this way, trials were planned in 18 locations spread over 11 countries, encompassing VCU (Value for Cultivation), drought, organic durum wheat and DUS (Distinctness, Uniformity and Stability) trials. These trial sites were divided into 5 agro-climatic zones: Continental, Pannonian, Mediterranean, South Maritime, and North Maritime.

Stay tuned for more news soon! We hope you enjoy.
