A cycle designed to evolve

The sessions addressed, in this order, the digitalization of agricultural practices, the links between nutrition and crop protection, and soil regeneration, reinforcing the importance of an agriculture that combines technology, science, and sustainable practices on the ground.

First webinar: drones and fertilization

The opening session reflected on the growing role of digitalization in agriculture, focusing on the use of drones to optimize fertilization strategies. After the project presentation by Guilherme Silva, yes CONSULT, They intervened Luis Conceição, of IPPortalegre, on the technical bases and applications of drones in precision agriculture, Bernardo Sousa, yes FieldAirTech, on the challenges and opportunities of providing services using drones, and José Azoia, yes EGOCULTUM, which brought the perspective of a farmer who uses these technologies in his daily life.

Second webinar: solo and batateira

Organized with PORBATATA, The second webinar deepened the relationship between nutrition, microbiology, and potato protection. It opened with Catarina Pereira, yes PORBATATA, followed by the presentation of the project by CONSULT. The panel met Artur Amaral, yes ESAS, on sustainable practices in potato nutrition, Pablo Pereira, of INIAV, on the role of soil microbiology in nutritional efficiency, Márcia de Castro Silva, of INIAV, on the challenges associated with Phytophthora infestans, and João Militão, yes Pelarigo, on soil preparation practices for the installation of the crop.

Third webinar: World Soil Day

The cycle ended with a session organized with ANPROMIS, On the occasion of World Soil Day. It was opened by Tiago Silva Pinto, yes ANPROMIS, with the presentation of the project by Beatriz Cardoso, yes CONSULT. The message that runs through all three sessions

The final discussion reinforced a common idea from the three sessions: productive resilience depends on the integration between technology, soil science, regenerative practices, and knowledge sharing among stakeholders in the sector.

By linking themes, cultures, and approaches, the cycle contributed to the mission of the NUTRI-CHECK NET, This is to promote common knowledge, harmonization of practices, and sustainable fertilization in European agricultural farms. The high participation and multidisciplinary involvement demonstrate the sector’s commitment to solutions that value productivity, efficiency, and soil health.
