Where will the results of European projects go after they are finished?

Dina Lopes, Francisca Viveiros and Carolina Ramos

We say goodbye to our first “European babies”, with the certainty that their results will continue to be available in the knowledge repository. EU-FarmBook, in.

SUPER-G

The project Horizonte 2020 (H2020) SUPER-G, Sustainable Permanent Pastures, ended in February 2024 and has launched valuable resources for farmers, policymakers and researchers.

  • Policy briefs.

  • Technical specifications.

  • Atlas of permanent pastures, divided into 18 framings.

  • Videos.

  • Tools to support decision-making.

The project website remains active during two years and it can be one point useful starting point to try out two tools developed for better management of pastures.

  • Farm Tool:.

  • Policy Tool:.

However, the SUPER-G will continue to live through the knowledge repository EU-FarmBook, where some of its most relevant results can now be consulted.

FAIRshare

The project Horizon 2020 FAIRshare, Available in, also finished in 2024. The project supported agricultural advisory services in the use of digital advisory tools and services (DATS), available in order to promote more productive and sustainable agriculture.

Here too the EU-FarmBook assumes a central role, housing more than 100 digital tools supporting the decision-making of farmers and other members of the agro-food and forestry sector.

InnoVar

The project Horizon 2020 InnoVar, The Next Generation Variety Trials to Improve Crops on European Agricultural Lands have finished December 2024. Feeding a growing global population in the context of global climate change is a challenge for the agricultural sector and for governments. Developing new varieties with more desirable characteristics is essential, but so is regulating them.

The project InnoVar It enabled the increase and improvement of the effectiveness and accuracy of trials and decision-making regarding European crop varieties, using an integrated approach that incorporated genomics, phenomics and machine learning. Historical data formed the basis of the database. InnoVar, Subsequently extended with new and harmonized data generated from trials conducted across Europe.

  • Integrating new science into testing processes Distinctness, Uniformity and Stability (DUS) e Value for Cultivation and Use (VCU).

  • Combining characters DUS and VCU.

  • Incorporating information about varieties into decision-making in agricultural farming.

MIXED

The project Horizon 2020 MIXED, The multi-actor and transdisciplinary development of efficient and resilient agricultural and agroforestry systems has been completed in February 2025. The project supported the development of European mixed agricultural and agroforestry systems, promoting greater efficiency in the use of resources, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and greater resilience to climate change.

The project website remains active and brings together the main publications on the different agroforestry systems evaluated, in various technical and scientific formats. It also includes policy recommendations on transition scenarios to mixed agricultural and agroforestry systems, available in.

These publications will subsequently be transferred to the platform EU-FarmBook, ensuring that the results remain accessible after the formal end of the project.
