The thematic forum was held at the <strong>Livramento Market<\/strong>, integrated into the project <strong>AML Alimenta<\/strong> and no <strong>National Plan for Balanced and Sustainable Food <\/strong><strong>National Rural Network<\/strong><strong>, <\/strong>and treated local markets as a tool for territorial development.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rui Almeida<\/strong>, Operational Director of <strong>CONSULT<\/strong>, e <strong>Jos\u00e9 Diogo<\/strong>, Agricultural Engineer at <strong>A2S<\/strong><strong>, <\/strong><strong>Association for Sustainable Development of the Saloi Region<\/strong>, They presented the objectives of the strategy: effective promotion and marketing, modernization of the structures, diversification of the offer, networking, and promotion of environmental sustainability. The results of the surveys conducted with producers and market managers were also presented, which opened the discussion on improvements and solutions to be applied.<\/p>\n<p><strong>An opening session with several decision scales<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The event began with the interventions of <strong>Joaquim Carapeto<\/strong>, President of the <strong>ADREPES<\/strong>, <strong>Regional Development Association of the Set\u00fabal Peninsula<\/strong>, of <strong>Pedro Pina<\/strong>, councilor of the <strong>Municipal Council of Set\u00fabal<\/strong>, of <strong>Filipe Ferreira<\/strong>, Metropolitan Secretary at <strong>Lisbon Metropolitan Area<\/strong>, and of <strong>Rita Barradas<\/strong>, Vice President of <strong>CCDR LVT<\/strong>. The role of local markets as spaces of social, cultural and economic identity was emphasized, as well as the importance of encouraging the traceability of products and the proximity between producers and consumers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Panel discussion with cases from several municipalities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The roundtable, moderated by <strong>Cust\u00f3dia Correia<\/strong>, yes <strong>National PAC Network<\/strong>, addressed the challenges and obstacles to the valorization of local markets.
