A CONSULT attended the overall project meeting Horizon Europe Re-Livestock, in Valencia, in November 2025. The three-day meeting took place in Polytechnic University of Valencia and made it possible to assess scientific progress, strengthen collaboration between teams and consolidate the commitment to developing livestock systems that are more resilient, sustainable and aligned with European climate objectives.

Mitigation and adaptation strategies

The partners presented updates on livestock emission mitigation and climate adaptation strategies, covering feeding, breeding, herd management and housing, and on the most recent progress in the case studies. These sessions allowed knowledge to be shared and ensured that the results obtained across different regions and species contribute to an integrated framework for livestock sustainability.

Measure resilience

One of the central points was the dialogues on climate resilience, which explored how to measure resilience across the various levels of livestock systems, from the animal to the territorial context. The discussions helped to refine methodologies, identify synergies between research activities and strengthen the link between the environmental, social and economic dimensions of resilience.

The sector's contribution

The meeting included interaction with representatives from the livestock sector, among whom were the C-Lock, a Nestlé, a Digitanimal, a CRV, a Provacuno and a PIC, which provided information on the practical reality of the producers and aligned scientific results with concrete applications.

The technical visits to the experimental facilities of UPV and at San Ramón Dairy Farm enabled the observation of innovative practices and applied research, reinforcing the link between science and the field.

The meeting marked a milestone in the final phase of the project and consolidated lessons learned that will support the transition towards more resilient, low-emission and socially responsible livestock systems.
