A CONSULT dynamizes the project PRR VALORCER, dedicated to the organizations of cereal producers in Portugal. The project began in April 2023, It is led by InnovPlantProtect and it also features the ANPROMIS, a ANPOC and a NOVA University of Lisbon among the entities that are driving the process.
O VALORCER It involves more than 17 organizations of producers in the cereal sector, including rice, which represent about 90% of the national production marketed and bring together more than 12,500 farmers distributed throughout the country.
What the project aims to change
In Portugal, there are many producer organizations with implemented quality systems, but there is still work to be done in the digitalization of processes, in the commercial aspect and in enhancing the final product for industry and consumers. VALORCER It aims to encourage innovation, increase management efficiency and value the national production of cereals through an advanced training program in the field of human resources and the creation of a blockchain system.
Diagnosis completed in all organizations
The first phase of the project ended in July 2023. It consisted of a technical visit by the driving forces to all the producer organizations, in order to diagnose the needs of each one, both in the implementation of management processes and in training, using a design thinking methodology.
The following work builds on this diagnosis and translates into new perspectives, advanced technologies, and methods of optimization and process management at the service of producer organizations. In the end, a more competitive and more prepared cereal sector is expected to respond to the environmental and economic challenges it faces.
The work of CONSULT no VALORCER It focuses on the capacity building and internal organization of the entities involved, an area in which he monitors organizations of producers from various sectors. The technical visits carried out have enabled him to gather, for the first time, a common picture of the needs of these organizations in the cereals sector, including rice, and serve as the basis for the training program that follows.
O VALORCER it is funded by PRR, Recovery and Resilience Plan. Follow the project's news on the channels of CONSULT.
