MAIS Floresta Programme: Operational Capacity Reinforcement – Support for Forest Management and Reduction of Fuel Load – Contribute to increasing prevention and reducing the risk of rural fire, by reinforcing the intervention capacity of the entities responsible for fuel load management, while simultaneously promoting the modernisation and improvement of the working conditions of forestry sector agents

Appropriation 12.1 million euros

• North – €4 million

• Centre – €4 million

• Alentejo – €1.5 million

• Lisbon and Tagus Valley – €1.5 million

• Algarve – €1.1 million

Geographical Area Covered: Mainland Portugal

Nature of Beneficiaries: Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) that carry out forestry activities and fall under the following NACE codes:

• 02100 – Forestry and logging

• 02200 – Forestry

• 02400 – Support services to forestry and logging

Form of Support and Amount: Non-repayable grant, with maximum funding of up to 150 thousand euros per approved application

Maximum Financing Rate: Up to 60%, depending on the type of equipment and the limits set out in the notice

Eligible Investments:

• Mechanical equipment for fuel management (implements)

• Tractors for forestry operations

• Remote-controlled machines for fuel management (mulching robot)

• Machines for shredding branches and twigs

Timeframe for Execution: The approved investments must be completed by 30 June 2026
