Under the Horizon Europe programme, the modernAKIS project aims to modernise agriculture through more efficient Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems (AKIS) and to improve the capacities of AKIS actors to harness the individual, organisational and systemic resources required for a more sustainable management and use of natural resources in agriculture and forestry.

• The main objective of the project was to create and promote a European network of at least 1,000 key AKIS actors, including AKIS coordination bodies, from all EU Member States, who will act as liasons in transforming AKIS systems towards more effective governance and the modernisation of the European agri-food sector • The project also aimed to strengthen the capacities of these key AKIS actors regarding their understanding of and involvement in the systems, enabling them to change the systems in the long term by improving the AKIS
In addition to having been the leader of WP5 (Wider dissemination and engagement for impact), CONSULAI had tasks to perform in almost all the other WPs. CONSULAI's main objective in this project was to communicate and disseminate its results, making modernAKIS as dynamic as possible, reaching as many people as possible and maximising the project's profile internationally.
