BPA.Eco is a Portuguese project that promotes good agricultural practices to enhance ecosystem services, especially in extensive and sustainable systems. Led by ANPOC, with support from partners such as COTR, FENAREG and IPBeja, it assesses practices that improve biodiversity and sustainability on farms. The project shows that even small ecological measures have a positive impact, particularly in more intensive systems.

• Identify ecosystem services associated with extensive rainfed and/or deficit-irrigated agricultural systems, especially in agropastoral and silvopastoral holdings
• Determine good agricultural practices that promote these ecosystem services, adapted to different types of holdings
• Assess the costs and benefits of implementing these good practices, considering economic, environmental and social impacts
• Propose public policy measures that encourage the adoption of the identified good practices
• Disseminate and transfer knowledge about good agricultural practices to sector stakeholders, promoting their implementation on the ground
CONSULAI was directly involved in facilitating the project's focus groups, benchmarking good practices for ecosystem services, quantifying the economic, social and environmental benefits of ecosystem services, typifying agro-silvo-pastoral farming models, defining and quantifying public policy measures, and in dissemination and knowledge transfer tasks.
