The Sustainable Hub to Engage into Rural Policies with Actors (SHERPA) was a four-year project with 17 partners, funded by the Horizon 2020 programme. The project aimed to gather knowledge to help formulate recommendations for future policies relevant to rural areas in the EU through the creation of a science-society-policy interface.

• SHERPA contributed to policy development in three main areas:
• Research policy, focusing on the preparation of work programmes under Horizon Europe
• Support for the implementation of policies relevant to rural areas in the 2021-2027 programming period
• Support for defining the direction of rural policy in what would be the next programming period
CONSULAI performed roles in all WPs of the project, thereby maintaining contact with all partners, providing support and holding 4 MAPs (Multi-Actor Platforms) in Portugal
