Oleocolza Project | Official Video

Started in 2017, the Oleocolza operational group was in execution until the end of 2021. This innovation project, co-funded by the Rural Development Program 2014-2020 (PDR2020) had as its main objective the study and dissemination of rapeseed culture among farmers, ensuring an increased production, in a profitable and environmentally sustainable way.

In this innovation project, the whole rapeseed chain is present, from the producer to the industry, aiming to test rapeseed as a rotation crop and vegetable oil extraction, with great potential for soil enhancement.

The overall objective of the initiative is to obtain rapeseed variety(ies) with superior quality characteristics, introduced as a high-yielding rotation crop, with soil valorization, and with characteristics that meet the industry’s specifications. In the medium term, it is also intended to promote and consolidate the production chain (farmers and/or their associations) organizing the concentration of supply, in order to supply the industry with homogeneous and high-quality rape lots and to promote the increase of areas and profitability of production (substitution of imports by national production).

Learn more about the partners, the project, and its main results in the official video of the Oleocolza operational group available here.

In the video, you can also find technical information about rapeseed cultivation as an alternative and value-added crop.
